André Cepeda's Ontem marks the first time in awhile I was captivated by a project to keep clicking "next", to keep seeing wanting to see what was next, to keep giving the project a chance to breathe. granted,Ontem's cold, punctuated breaths are effaced by a palpable thread of malaise. but like the grand scheme of our hyperthreading, hyperreal world, Cepeda by some turns warily, and some hopefully, leaves room for transcendence, or at least the eager desire for it, in instances if you so choose to look.
